Privacy Policy

This site is a reference work. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into, which keeps this policy shorter and plainer than most. What follows describes what actually happens when you visit, not what a template assumes.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth or any other personal detail. There are no accounts, no newsletter sign-up and no inquiry forms of ours. The sponsored listings are the one exception worth naming: their links lead through Esyoh to the school that placed them, and anything you type into a listing, or fill in once you get there, is collected by Esyoh and the school, not by us.

We do not sell or rent personal information, because we do not hold any. We do not run retargeting pixels, social media trackers, session recording or heat mapping. The one advertising network the site works with is described under Advertising below.

Analytics

This site runs no analytics. No Google Analytics or other visitor counter is loaded.

We may enable privacy-respecting analytics later to count visits and see which pages are useful. If we do, this section will be updated before it goes live to name the provider, the cookies it sets and what it receives.

Advertising

The site's sponsored school listings are served by Esyoh, at esyoh.com, an advertising network for schools, and the site earns a commission through them. Schools pay to appear in the listings, and the listings sit outside the rankings. The about, methodology, privacy and terms pages never carry them.

To show the listings on a page, Esyoh's script sends Esyoh the address of the page and its title and main heading, so the listings match the subject. Your IP address reaches Esyoh with the request, which is how listings are matched to a rough location, and the script tells Esyoh when a listing comes into view, which is how it counts the ads it has shown. It also works out an identifier from your browser and device settings, such as screen size, time zone and language, and sends it with each request; when you follow a listing, it adds a coded summary of those settings to the link, which Esyoh's own script describes as a check against fraudulent clicks.

It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Anything you type into a listing, and anything you submit once you follow one, goes to Esyoh and the school under their own privacy policies, not to us. If you block esyoh.com, the listings never appear and the rest of the page works exactly the same.

What Is Stored On Your Device

One thing, and it is not a cookie. If you use the light and dark toggle in the header, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key theme so the site does not flash the wrong colors the next time you open it. That value never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

Server Logs

This site is served as static files by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which keeps standard access and security logs. Those logs are how any web host distinguishes a real visitor from an attack, and they are handled under Cloudflare's own privacy terms. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors.

Links To Schools And Other Sites

Program cards on this site link to schools' own sites, and our pages cite the ABA's directory of approved programs, IPEDS, College Scorecard, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the statutes, courts, bar associations and certifying bodies whose rules they describe. Every link in a sponsored listing goes through Esyoh. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site, subject to their privacy policy and their trackers, not ours. We have no control over and take no responsibility for what they collect.

How This Site Makes Money

This site earns commissions from sponsored school listings, served by the education ad network Esyoh. Those listings are ads: schools pay to appear in them, they are not scored or ranked, and no listing can change a ranking. Rankings, ABA approval, wage data and program details come from official records and each school's own published pages, and are reported the same way whether or not a school advertises.

Worth being precise about what that means: the links in the rankings and on the program cards are plain outbound links to schools' own sites and to the sources we cite, and only the links inside a sponsored listing earn the site anything. We do not operate lead forms and we pass no visitor information to schools; what Esyoh receives, it collects through its own script, as described under Advertising. If that ever changes, this policy and the disclosure will change with it, and the change will be dated at the top of this page.

Children

This site is written for people choosing a university degree and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your Rights

Privacy laws including the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and the CCPA and CPRA in California, give you rights to access, correct, delete and port personal data an organization holds about you, and to object to its processing.

If you write to us, we hold that email in order to reply to it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. To exercise any right, or to ask what we hold, write to hello@savomediagroup.com.

What Esyoh's script collects goes to Esyoh directly from your browser, and requests about what Esyoh holds go to Esyoh. Blocking esyoh.com in your browser stops the script from loading and from collecting anything.

Changes To This Policy

If what we collect changes, this page changes first and the date at the top moves. The cases most likely to trigger that are enabling analytics, a change to the advertising, and adding any form that submits information.
